When reality doesn’t match the carpets

And most of our poor eat more protein, have better snacks, more comfortable clothes, sleep in better beds, and just generally live better than the European middle class. They mostly have cars, and can afford to drive around (“President” Bifflé — you might not want to look that up. Then again, you might want to. I’m not your mother — and his Junta would like to stop that) they have houses of whatever description that are warm in winter and cool in summer, and they are just generally in better shape than their European counterparts, before you get to the rest of the world.

I remember hearing a commercial on some FM channel when I lived in Cincy.  It being delivered in the voice of a young girl, talking about ‘Going downstairs for breakfast, opening the fridge and seeing nothing but condiments”.  Now, it was mixed to tug on the heart strings of those without much experience in the big wide world.   Seriously, it was geared to some “intellectual type lib-tards” because anyone that has been across borders , even just our southern border into TJ, can tell you that 1) some ‘poor’ person living in a two story house AINT, and 2) the same person that DOESN’t live in the two story, probably ‘rents’ space in a local fridge to keep things in IF they can afford it (and they won’t be doing that for very long. ). I have said it many a time here and on my other blogs of the past; “We have the Richest Poor People on the planet”

 When i visited the Philippines during my stint in Uncle Sams Misguided Children, I payed the bar fee for a local girl (she wasn’t, she was from Okinawa and there because the schooling was WAY cheaper and she could do 4 years on her back and make MORE towards her retirement AND pay for the school). No need to give me the side-eye, My intentions were pure (LOL) and I mostly wanted a translator so I could make a buy on the local markets without getting bent by riff-raff (IS true!). Think about that.  She opted to move to another country to attend higher education that was cheaper than in her native place, was working her way through the school by being a prostitute, and had plans on retiring by 40 with the money she was investing as well as using for her education.   She lived in what amounts to a VERY small hotel room and was paying good money for it (she could make the rent with one ‘Trick”,  roughly $20, which on the island at the time was DAMNED good money). No Fridge, a hot plate and one basin sink was the extent of her ‘kitchen’, and she said this was a HUGE improvement over her living arrangements in Okinawa.   (also note, Prostitution in many places, is a respectable tradition for young women of less than “elite” backgrounds, and is not the demonized and illegal activity that gets pushed behind the curtain more than people would expect.)

By American Standards, this girl was lower than dirt poor.  Her income likely equated to less than 10K/year, but she was using every dime of that to further her goals forward in life.  She could have been like some of the people I toured with.  One had to pay extra EVERY Time we flew somewhere because of his suitcases, one of which weighed over 100# by itself: it was full of his designer shoes, mostly Nike and Jordans.  Funny that the sound and lighting crew with a few years under our belts had typically ONE carry on, our back pack of clothes ‘for a few days’ and some hygiene stuff.  All of our personal gear that we needed to do the shows was shipped on the truck with the rest of the gear, and not one of us had 86 pairs of shoes in a suitcase.  (and when I found out about the suitcase, I was shocked, this was his third time out that I knew of, and that he would waste that much money on something,,,   Dunno, Can’t fix stupid, eh?).  She told me about another girl at the bar she worked in:  that young lady shared a bedroom with her grandmother in a two bedroom house with three generations of family living in it.  She used the bed during the day to rest,  and would share a hotel room with another girl to turn her tricks at night.  How many households in the US have that many people living under one roof in what amounts to a shack, time-sharing sleeping space?

We have it real good here on this continent and as Sarah points out, the “hatred of Americans” that seeps into conversation strikes me more as ENVY.   

And the FRAUD and its Controllers HATE us because we don’t acquiesce and lay down like the Serfs they are trying to make us into.
