Needed a musical interlude

what with all the globohomopedototaltariantakeover of a dialogue, I needed a break.

Spent the last two days working, doing my ting to increase my financial state, and when not busting chops on the welding table, or pegging small sections of whiteoak into place on my cockpit coaming, I have been exploring UUTOOB for bass licks.  

Jack-leg bass player that I am, I was a much better sound-dude and all of my favorite bands to mix were FUNK.  Mixing Original P in Louisville and seeing the peak lights on EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL ON MY BOARD (even the ones without inputs) when we opened the show with that Moog ripping the very fabric of the Universe a new one,,,,   Yeah, that was a highlight I will never EVER forget.   I love hearing a good slap-bass player in action, and while I don’t “like” the persona the person in some of the vids carries (cheesy Russian accent, dead pan voiced,) His playing style wins MANY forgivenesses from me.   BUT, what really grabbed me was the number of foreign bassplayers that have taken the slap bass style and ran to the hills with it.  OMF!G!    I wasn’t going to embed the vid, but the more I think about it, the more I MUST share this one.   Note: there are SEVERAL players involved, each taking lead or following behind when not in the forefront.   The actual “battle’ Is between Davie 504 and Mina out of Japan.  That she is so daggum tatented and so frigging adorable at the same time,,,,,  (and check out her links, she is VERY talented across several instruments and mixes up some wild stuff)

I’ll get back into the grooves again here later tomorrow.   I supposedly get Buffalo back from the shop tomorrow,   Along with a finalized amount of new debt to Da,,,  *sigh*.  Gotta do as you must to keep moving forward.   BUT, at least the Buffalo is gaining some more reliabilty in the process.   

Go dig on the tunes, forget about the world at large for a bit, It won’t go anywhere while the ears engage.
