weaponry or tools
Was posting on Fakebook marketplace for something and a notification popped up that sparked my curious nature. It was a saying that “a gun is the material realization of killing” or something to that effect. I didn’t save it, but I did check out some of the commentary,,,,
Damn, the pervasiveness of liberal indoctrination on FB is RABID,,,
One guy posted that “a hammer is the material realization of a nail needing pounded” and the vitriol he took was ungawdly. I wanted to post that “according to FBI research in the 80’s (I think that was when, may have been in the 90’s) Clawhammers were more likely to be a ‘weapon of choice’ in murders.” BUT, I really didn’t feel like jumping into the cesspit of liberal wordfare today.
I posted on here once or twice, “the gun is the tool, I AM THE WEAPON”. and that concept is so hard for some people to understand. It’s obvious, to me anyway, that these people are scared to death of an inanimate object, and will NEVER get over that fear. They have likely never been looking down the barrel of said tool being pointed at them in anger (I have) nor are they likely to ever be comfortable enough around one to learn how to use one.
Yes, it is a material realization of SOMETHING, but killing, thats just one aspect, not the whole story. People say that we don’t have need of semi-automatic, let alone fully automatic weapons. I get angry because I don’t see the ‘weapon’, I see a tool, and those tools are as varied as the number of hammers you can buy at the bricknmortar places. Why should I be restricted in my choice of one type of tool, just because some munch-brained ignoramus doesn’t understand “tools”. I choose what type of tool I use when I go hunting and its not limited to my AR. I use a blackpowder revolver for BP season, an AR for rifle season and a recurve for primitive weapons season. I used to use a Compound, and while I like the accuracy of them, they and my shoulder do not agree with each other: even with a 65% let-off. And I am a snap shooter with the Bear. (blew a few family members away at Turkey day a few years back. Made a 50 yard shot into a 3D bear target and hit liver, lung and heart. Had it been real, I may have had to track that bear down but it wouldn’t have been far.). The Bear I use is my Dads old Kodiak, best damned bow that was made back in the early 70’s and still a damned sight better, in my book, than lugging a 10# alloy chassis compound around the woods. (part of why I like a revolver for BP season, easy to carry, has more than one shot if needed, and doesn’t get hung up in the brush like a rifle does. I don’t climb trees either,,,,)
Its just a damned tool. The mind behind the tool is the weapon, and if a person is so inclined to do murder, it matters not what TOOL they use, they will commit the act. If they are restricted to rocks and clubs, that is what they will use, but you won’t be able to stop the willingness to do the deed.
and making it so that the law-abiding like myself and others are restricted from those tools does NOT stop the not law-abiding from getting them. THAT is the main argument I have with those that want to ‘do away with the guns’. or “Only the Law should have guns”.(and I am going to avoid that quagmire of stoopid for now.) Even if you managed to get rid of the guns on the streets, there are people with the mind set to make something anyway. We used to call them Zip-guns, and I would imagine that there are still some versions floating around, or coming up in the cracks. Ask any prison guard how many times they find Shanks when they do inspections. Where there is a will, people WILL find a way. And when it comes to self-defense, you had better believe that there is a WILL.
It’s been one year since stoopid pulled a gun on me and shot my truck. Y’all may remember that post, (and dude is still awaiting trial, and it’s not me that filed the charges, but the state.). Here’s the point I try to hammer home whenever I get into convo about handguns and defense and what not: MY POSITION is similar to the Samurai had about drawing their Katana. If I pull a gun, its not to wound you, or intimidate you, or any other silly crap like that. IF I pull a gun on you, you are going to die, not be crippled, or wounded: just DEAD.
I’m the weapon, the gun, or arrow, or knife,,,, Just tools to do the job.
