Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Monday? Oh, yeah,,,,

Sorry, not a lot to type about right now.  Had to take Da to a urology appointment, found exactly what I suspected, Pissed off Prostate from getting poked with all those damned catheters.   At least he is pissing unassisted these days, so, continue with the flowmax and sumpin else (don’t recall its name) and add in an antibiotic to keep things from getting worse.   Next appointment in 6 weeks,  Good deal in my opinion.    Next up is next monday for Cardiology follow up, but seeing how he is up and. about, doing his thing, chasing bees, hauling firewood, etc, I don’t see them ‘finding’ much.    He has complained about being tired a bit more, but I think that has some to do with the fact that for over a month, he was basicly confined to a recliner with things stuck in his body that made even just walking a pain in the ass.

As for the world at large,   yeah,   No news is good news I guess, but then, that tends to stimulate my paranoia factor too.    BC posted a little sumpin-sumpin about FEAR and how fear causes stoopid people to do stoopid things, and that what we have been seeing is FEAR in the Elites.  Seeing what has happened in Oz, what is happening in NawYuk currently, the insanity that was Kalifruitopia and is now Gawd only knows what,,,  Yeah, this contagion is spreading, and will be in a zone near you (and me) before it burns out. (or we burn it out.)

Mike of the ColdFuryians has a piece up about some dood that thinks Rednecks are the answer,,,     Dood hasn’t lived one minute in Appalachia, that I can tell from the reading.  These peeps aren’t going to be any form of revolutionary guard or anything.   They WILL fuck your shit up if you decide that you want to make them conform to some NahYuk profile and have to ‘force’ them into it.   Shit just does not move fast around here, even with SEVERAL examples of a better way, TRUST ME ON THIS.   Hell, it took four years before COSTS forced bossman to admit that there MIGHT be a better way for us to make our products.   We used to use Oxy/Atcetylene and brazing rods to make ALL of our stuff.   When the price of a 10# box of brazing rods went north of $200, he decided to start using a MIG, after I had been begging for it.    Even now, with the price of steel and gas being what they are, we are still running cheaper than brass and blowtorch, and I am MUCH FASTER with burning wires.  Even SON made comment that the first MIG we had, had paid for itself in cost savings alone within one month.   Yah, nothing around here changes FAST unless its the front of a methlab. (and those rednecks are scary enough without pissing them off.)

I’m just biding my time right now, trying me damnedest to keep Da ticking along and get him to a point where he is stable enough and the doc appointments are far enough apart that we can make that drive to SC and look for him a place that isn’t on a 50% grade with rocks the size of pickup trucks.   Had to mow his grass last weekend and it took 24 hours for my sphincterometer to unclench.  Christ in a handbasket, I have no clue how he has done that for the last 16 years and NOT had an accident!!!  I almost rolled the tractor twice before I got the hang of, LITERALLY, hanging off the the danged thing on the uphill side.   At one point I was standing on only one footboard and could almost see UNDER the tractor.   I always wondered why he wanted me to disable the deadman’s switch on the tractor seat; Now I KNOW.

Short day today at the J.O.B.,  Four hours, but better than nada, tomorrow I ‘eased up’ on my demand to NOT leave the shop.  Da is doing much better and I let his brother know to be on call ‘just in case’.  I have to do a remote weld job in Tennessee tomorrow and the other option was to let the other crew leader do it.   I saw his welds as I mentioned in another post, IF you want to call that welding,,,   Seen better splatter from a flock of chickens eating laxatives.   (sorry T, just the truth,,,). And the points that are needing welded are the Arms for barbed wire on Gates that Bossman broke down and ordered while I had my mini-vaca.  (To the tune of “lost his ass” on the job bid after he found out how much OTHER places are charging for custom fabrication.   Hey Boss, lets talk about that cost vs margin thing, and about my pay,,,). They end up under quite a bit of tension and if the welds aren’t solid, I’ll be over there fixing them eventually anyways,,,

As for the other aspects of ME, Writing, still,,,   Kayaking, nottasomuch the last couple months.   Realized last night, I have not been on water since mid-July, and that was the weekend before my mother passed on and only for an hour at most.   Since, Heck, I haven’t even been hauling a boat around anymore because of the situation with Da.  Still have a back seat full of gear, ‘just in case’ and it doesn’t take long to toss a boat on the racks, but having it there frustrates the hell out of me because I never seem to have the time or opportunity these days.  (it doesn’t help that I have four on racks on my porch that are in FULL VIEW everytime I open the door.   And Duh!kee is looking REALLY dusty lately,,,). With winter coming on, I have considered doing something to ‘ease’ my addiction, and rework one of the boats.  Likely Serena.   I have never really like the amount of rocker she has but the design otherwise is solid.   I would have to cut the skin off, and rework the keelson to get that rocker out, and of course reskin,,,,  But that is a lot simpler than building another boat that I have no need for,,,   Just sucks because the costs on that skin kit went from $150 to $240 in less than a year. (but I could fix the other issue, her camoflaged nature,  She needs to be something that stands out on the water so I don’t get ran over by some of the wild boaters we have here-bouts.)20200503 1115362232053265736002929

Yeah, I think I have talked myself into a reskin, re-work the frame project.  It will also let me fix that saggy skin when the humidity is high,,, Now that I know what I did wrong last time.   Otherwise, the way things are looking, I will be making a different sort of boat using foam as my forms and fiberglass.   That may happen yet, but dangit, I DON’T need another boat,,,,  not right now.
