I’ve been saying that about the Afghans for well over a decade. When a lone rifleman can keep an entire FOB in lockdown for weeks,,,, yes it happened. Yes, eventually they bagged him, but for two weeks, the man held an entire forward operating base in terror of dying, and he was using a simple bolt action rifle from a hole in the wall. One man. One bullet at a time. And the ‘best of the best’ cowered in fear.
And what took him out? AnF-18 with missles? Nope. A tactical nuke from Arty over the ridge? Nope. A hellfire dropped from Droney the drone piloted from a base in Nevada? Nope.
Its was a small squad of guys with small arms and a willingness to take a bullet to acheive the ends. Thats evidence part two.
