Time to meself

With the current heat wave in effect, obvious by the three puddle-o-kats I have sprawled on any tiled surface they can find; I decided it was a library day. Fortunately, the local library, (closer in proximity, but not my county) is not suffering from Coronaphobia, and I can go inside and enjoy some cool air while being productive and online. Phone is busy doing its update thing, and Mac is now enjoying its actual role of word processing and publimicatin’. (and oh-boy does the autocorrect hate me right now. LOL). Note, last time I was at my county library, you had to call in to check in, and you could only check out books online; Make your order online and they would put it together and bring it out to you, wearing a facemark, face shield and blue gloves. I felt like I was a pariah just parking in the lot. Bell county(not my county, but much closer to home) at least has some sanity left in it, and the backlash against coronaphobia and Covidiocy is everywhere. I take that as a good sign.

So, updates on phone since I am not using it to post, gathered up some apps for the Mac that I realized I needed. gonna try another writing program other than Scrivener. Scrivener is cool, but at times is so overwhelming with all its features that I feel like I’m a little clownfish being pursued by a great white. (no, no movie references there, not at all. ;-). )

I have to limit my exposure to the cesspools. I’ve brought this up a time or two before, and that means that I will not post about that crap as much. Yes, I will dip in, just to keep my radar tuned, so to speak, but I can’t dive in and give a full assessment on it. To dive in, right now, with all the changes taking place in my little world,,,,

Let’s just say bad thing would happen. Bad horrible things that can’t be taken back. Big Country knows of what I speak: we have to keep that particular beast well leashed. In my case, it’s by limiting exposure to the irritants that make the beast howl. And I am just a has-been EOD guy. I know a few of the Snake-eaters and that their beasts need to be CHAINED to the deck, not just a piddling leash like mine. (and KUDOS to BC for his new Job. Congrats Bro.)

And I have so much more to tell the world; here, in my unwritten books, and places yet to be discovered. To unleash that beast will bring all of that little world to a crashing mangled ending. Even if I were to ‘luck out’ and only get a lifetime sentence or two, my writing would likely not be permitted exposure to the rest of the world. Hell, the fact that Amazon hasn’t pulled my last book tells me I may have held back too much. Either that or it just isn’t getting enough attention, and BeatboyBezos is too distracted by kissing ass to the Woke to notice,,,

I’ll take ‘not getting enough attention’ as reason enough. I’m just another no name blogger in a sea full of ’em, and I know that my freshman publication is not likely to see much. But by DOG, I learned a shit-ton about the process, tools needed, and that I REALLY NEED TO WORK ON MARKETING. I also learned that I need to surround myself with other writers if I want to make this thing work. And by work, I mean INCOME enough that I can focus on it better. Yeah, its a Catch-22 thing. I get that.

*sigh*

SO,,,, ya keep pushing type. Keep hammering the plots, character growth, scenes and, and , and, And eventually you have an audience, and an audience can GROW. Keep feeding the audience the stuff they like, then you can ‘expand out’ and maybe build a second audience,,,,

Time to go dip my toes in the cesspits to get my radar tuned. BC mentioned something going on in Aussie land, (my original fallback point at one point in time: to bad I lost touch with a certain Femme spéciale,, She was intense, and not just in bed,,,,). Dunno what all happened between 92 and now, but Georgia was warning me then, that it was becoming a welfare state, and the mass insanity of such was headed communist ways. Sad to see she was right.
