Hurry up and wait

Seems like the story of my life some days,,,

Impressions made, wax trial plates made, new bite mold made, and

It’ll be next week before my new plates are ready. *sigh*

No biggie, what I have will suffice for the time being, but they are NOT at all comfortable, and end up in the tank more than in my head. Don’t want the danged things wearing a hole in my upper palate (and they are trying to do just that)

All in all, I am much more satisfied with the new place than the original place that fitted my last set. The last pair never did fit well, always needed glued in and even then were questionable (and why one plate is on the bottom of Cumberland Lake,, ) the new wax trial fits felt right, and had resistance (to removal) when I went to give them back. Thats a good thing. Snug without pinching where the last set was kinda loose and ‘bit back’ in strange places (like trying to wear a hole in my upper palate,,,). Where the last place flat said ‘after three weeks we will do a reline for proper fit” this place is saying ” a reline is a bandaid prior to new plates”. That makes sense to me since relines always end up failing/peeling and become food stuff wedged between/halitosis forming gunk traps, even getting rinsed off, frequently. (Side note: former place is a national chain that I won’t mention unless in PM directly to someone, that has several class action suites against them currently for predatory practices and fraudulant practices. I was not aware of that when I needed the services originally. Current place is a local practice, on site lab, and so far as I can tell, a truly competent DDS with pride for her work.)

Annndddd, the Doc is paid, just need to pay back the credit card, and thats 6 months interest free. I’ll have it paid off in 5 and not sweat it. Now, the wait for nice, properly fitted teeth,,,
