Drat, that didn’work
Lol. Laughing at myself here. Bought a footpeg/bilgepump for a song from Topkayaker. Figured to replace the footplate in Serena and having a foot operated bilgepump was a plus. Even tested them in a bucket and they really move some water.
Only,,,,
Serena is a skin on frame and ANY post- skin install is going to be ‘interesting’. Add in diferent rib locations than the standard 14″ spacing used by most footpeg makers, and, well, shoot!

Re-installed the footplate and added the pump/peg rig to my Kayak building storage bin. Maybe not this round or this boat, but they WILL be going in something.
‘Sides, its not like Serena takes on water. Even doing extended dips for hipsnap practice, she only took on a couple cups, mostly through the shirt between me and the skirt tunnel. If I ‘ride bareback’ she won’t take on more than a drop or two. When I was out in the soup of Cumberland Lake with Denton, she was dry as a bone inside until I popped the skirt to get out. If I had stretched up first and dislodged that water,,,,
Maybe time to come up with another design, OR, when I reskin the Duh!k,,,,

I can’t use them in the Feathercraft as its footpegs are proprietary and rudder controls. (And I still need to finish overhauling its frame.)

And they REALLY wont work in the Pirouette,,,

Tinkatinkatink, they’ll find a home in something. Something long and lean and intended for wide open waters where dumping out water is not an option.😁
