Wknd AAR
spent most of Saturday driving cross country for some horse tradin’.
This,

Became this,

It rained all the way there and back, finally breaking about the time I crossed back through the Gap. Decided to stop at the lake and take her for a spin.
Worlds difference between the pair. worlds.
Spent the remainder of Saturday adjusting seating, footpegs, and adding hip-pads (I really DO have a narrow ass).
Took her out again on Sunday but not to the river as I wanted. It had climbed its banks overnight and my put in was under 3′ of water. Back to the lake. Spent 5 hours getting to know her intimately. Spent some time doing hipsnaps, and did A LOT of capsizing and wet exits. Even had a couple screw ups where a hip snap was done aggressively and turned into a high side capsize. LOL.
Love the boat with one exception: No drainplug. Easily rectified but currently makes getting water out of the boat a chore. (And when I learn how to roll, a moot point.)
Hoping the other party in this deal is as happy with the trade, but to be honest, I’m thinking I got the better end of the deal. Only 4 years older but many many hours LESS water time on this boat. All hardware and outfitting intact and even has factory accessories not normally available: All four float bags intact and holding air without a single patch anywhere, the thigh braces inplace and cockpit lip cover barely worn.
More seat time gets me closer to full rolls. The advantage to this boat over the last is in its stability (or lack of). Its much more similar to Serena and Duh!k then the Arc was. It will make transitioning between boats not so jarring to muscle memory.
