Ups n Downs

Somedays you get the bear, some days the bear gets you.

Went out to potentially sell Duh!kee, and while the buyer is definitely interested, the sale did not go through for reasons, well, just reasons. Met a fine pair of people in the process, both young and trying to make their way in the world on their terms. True entrepreneurs!

Sadly their day went to hell thanks to a thief. They have had to rent boats from another agent because the demand for their service was booming. Today, someone stole one of those boats while they were between points. And the take out point was not under watch. What they made today was half of the replacement cost of that boat.

For their sakes, I hope they don’t allow this to damper their drive, but take the lesson given them. Two people, two points of coverage; they need to split the in and out and watch both ends of the business.

They have a good business model and one with good potential for better and growth, but they’ll need to keep their wits, especially with being a seasonal thing.

I wish them luck, especially after todays trial.

As for me, I had a good time, managed to see a new area, and met two ‘breath of fresh air’ people to give me hope of our future. Tomorrow is supposed to be a rainy day, and I need to spend sometime editing my new book anyway instead of playing,,,

So, its put the kayaks to bed tonight, and ‘back to work’ for me tomorrow.
