Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Woof!

Not dog talk, but the sound I made when I was finally able to take the weight off my feet today.

Hot out, sun feeling mean, and myself and a small crew put up a steel frame for sheet metal siding around a restaurant’s outdoor coolers. Stick welding 14gauge tubing (square tube) 8′ tall. Need to return in next couple of days to hang the gates: heavy bastichts they is, and we want the concrete to cure before we go hanging a few hundred pounds of steel from the posts.

Here’s something to ponder: when all the hoopla and hyperbole kicked off in February, my work slowed some. Around 10-15 hours a week slower. Now that things are “opening up”, I am frickin SLAMMED. I’m at least two weeks of 40+ behind in welding projects, and that does not include the onsite installs I’m involved in. Bossman told me that the company as a whole is three weeks behind and that timeline continues to stretch longer. We picked up three newbs this week (and that actually slows us down for a short time as we train them up) and J and myself spent several hours during the start of the week doing repairs on vehicles to make sure we have wheels for multiple crews.

Guess what the majority of our work involves.

Security fencing for businesses.

Our call list SURGED the last week.

One wonders why?😋

Note, my projects tend to be the gates for those jobs and dog kennels for two local companies(only one linked) . And as I’ve told the newbs, ‘everything else’ from vehicle repair to backhoe operator with a slash list that I haven’t found the end of yet.

Not bitching, I’d rather have work than be stuck at home in most cases. But there are times where I wish I could duplicate myself and do some catchup. Now is one of those times.
