DST means to me
That I’m gonna get more shit DONE.
Otherwise, I could care less about it. There are arguments for/against and I think its a waste of effort, but I’m just lil’ol me and my opinion means squat.
But the “Git’er Dun” has already started.
Still need to make the cages for the tanks, getting a pair of 40mm cans for storage of all the little stuff and rod boxes. I have a pair of Hubbell panel connections arriving Tuesday with corrosponding Cam locks for the leads. Will make swapping polarity a breeze, and I used these connectors while touring (tieing into 3phase power is so much nicer safer with cams, and it was a daily occurrence on the road) so know they are pretty near bullet proof. I even have a vise that I am considering mounting, but sadly, real estate is fast disappearing on this little trailer.
============================
LOL, started this post Sunday and its already Tuesday. And the Camlocks came in and are already installed.
You may note that the leads are “reversed”. Yeah, technically they are. In welding, straight polarity is electrode negative, reversed is electrode positive. I don’t know the history of it, but 95%(WAG of course) of welding is done DCEP or electrode positive. I kept the red black thing as is, and set up the leads for straight polarity. It may seem confusing, but I’d lay good money some of the lifer pipeliners would look at this setup, and just nod and carry on.
The advantage of the cams is quick change, and removal. There may be days and or places, where I need to swap polarity for whatever reason (thin pipe or sheet for example) or just need to get the leads off and under lock and key during down times; not having to bust out tools to do so is a plus.
Anywhoos, still making forward momentum, still itching to get Duh!k out, and still working as I can (more as of late but the reasons behind that would fill a whole’nother post and then some.).
