Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

So whats next?

Next project?
Next phase of America’s journey into hell?
Next wild ‘climate shift ‘?

Who knows.  My next project, that isn’t an extension of a project already in progress, is my shop.  A couple of changes will be taking place before that gains much momentum though: ie; a change in employment.  That is currently in negotiation,  and looks hopeful and promising.  My current project, the welding trailer, is not a part of that.  The trailer is my insurance policy for when everything starts to go Tango Uniform.  The shop is also part of that insurance policy.  (I recall I did a post about ‘insurance’ wayabackawhen.)  I don’t need to go into what T U will be, again, anyones guess, but, I don’t think it will be ‘full Venezuela’ either: I could be wrong though, and this is one instance where I hope I’m not.
As for America’s slide into Hell; its now unstoppable.   I read how Trump is so hobbled by the left,  what with them curtailing emergency orders, judges getting stays on his orders, etc.  Hell, Oblammy-o-boy got away with far more incredulous shit (birth certificate anyone? Why was his wife disbarred? Etc) but the lefties went right along with never a burp.  Now, the gloves are off, and the colors aren’t hidden anymore.  The left hates  despises this country.  Its a classic insanity IMO.  There is no way these fucktards people could have gotten where they are IF NOT FOR THIS COUNTRY BEING WHAT IT WAS (note I said WAS because it is not that any longer. 😐)  Occasional Cortex surely wouldn’t have made it into her current role back when I was a kid because, even though the left was growing,  there was still some semblance of sanity in our Government.  Our government is a walking sitcom, it would be the laughing stock of the world if not for the muscle behind it, and the core problem is even fucking that up by emasculating our military.  IMO,  if we were presented with a similar situation to 1940, we would get our asses handed to us.  Maybe not invaded, but we wouldnt last the 5 years and two major theaters that we did then, nor would we triumph.  (How long have we ‘held ground’ in the ME?  Its not about winning, its about keeping the war machine running)

Now as for climate shift, all the hoopla that the media covers,  I ignore.  What I have been watching is termed “Solar Minimum “. There is real science and historical precedence behind it, unlike the psuedo-science religion of ‘climate change’. , and that’s where I was introduced to it.  A quick search will turn up stuff about it: make up your own mind.  Ice age? Maybe a little one like back a couple hundred years. (The one the media NEVER talks about I notice.) But who knows.  They supposedly come on quite fast  (less then a decade) and take time to warm up. (Long enough to have long term effects on evolutionary paths)  We’ll see it, or we won’t,  and only time will tell the truth.
But I cant worry about Stoopid Government crap or Wild Climate Fun: I can’t change it.  I cant even effect it past my personal space. So, I watch it to make sure it stays out of my personal space and only worry about that space, IE: my projects/insurance policy.  I keep a notepad and pencil handy for those fleeting inspirations, but try to stay focused in reality. Reality being the (un?)holy trinity: time, space, and money.  I usually have two outta three, rarely all three.  I hope to change that ratio in the next few months/year. I just havta keep my karma happy. (and it has been happy the last 8 months)

You mentioned reality as the Trinity of time, space and money…at 72, I might add a very important 4th to the equasion. Health or lack of….as each year of the last 5-7 years, the lack of, gains more and more of the question….my independence has been whittled away it seems more and more each day. Frankly, spend more and more time just being able fix a meal or bathe these days than worrying about prepping. Fortunately have done a bunch while able and can eat for awhile off stores.
Just hoping to hang around long enough to help clear the deck of some deserving credents from power. Afraid a lot of ageing patriots have found themselves in my position.
I think that 2020 will be the trigger regardless of who wins election. If we are able to make it til then, the left are pulling all stops out and doing all they can to pull this President down.

    • Agree about both points. Health is always a factor, and a point I’ve been gifted with; so far.
I also think 2020 elections are going to show just how rigged the house game is, and that alone should trigger, something. What, remains to be seen.
I ain’t ready, not yet, but I’m leagues ahead of most, just by how I live: off grid with my own water source. I’m not gardening full bore yet; thats a logistics issue. There is only me and trying to earn the notes to acquire the rest cuts into keeping a garden. Hoping to change that lack soon, and not bury myself in the process.

Like you, have multiple water sources, both independent, my own. Although now hooked to grid, can and have gone off for years. At $40 average power bill, I can’t keep up alternative power source for any less, but have ready if needed. Property debt free and fairly remote. Have munitions and staples stored
So, guess I’m 80% or more ready for WSHF time. But, and that’s a big BUT, deteriorating health due to age and past hard living nothing I can do to prevent. Its already here. Seems, every week, sometimes everyday, a new hardship to do something I’d always done, shows itself. Age is the one thing I wish I’d prepared for more than I have. You and I have joked about temp bed warmers in the past. Now wished I’d done more to have a permanent one now. My advice, for what its worth. Don’t go into the winter season of life alone. I’m working on a couple options to rectify that, but wished I’d taken care of that PREP earlier.
I didn’t mention, but I also have two RVs if bug out needed. One a pull behind 30′ trailer. The other a 28 ft mini motor RV. I’ve seriously considered/considering downsizing, selling out of permanent place and just ride off into wherever. Maybe go hang with different preppers throughout country. Fact, ain’t getting any younger.

      • Interesting you brought this up. Been thinking along similar thoughts, not just for the companion, but the extra hands. There is just so much to do and with all the other stuff to do, a body reaches a limit faster than expected.
        And I ain’t getting younger.
Problem as I have seen is ‘modern woman’ (and apologies to those good women out there that this does NOT apply to.) tend to be more ‘me, me, me’ than I can tolerate. Have actually considered having interviews for prospective candidates, LOL . Yeah, that’d fly, HA!
Then again, had a thought towards finding a little mexican bride,,,
No easy answers and I am old enough to know so,,,

Hey, amazing how your mind and mine have tracked so much alike. Ref: Mexican wife. Brother, having spent several years in West Texas, about 100 miles from, now famous border, acquainted with the señoritas. Actually next to Cajun, is my first choice for female partner. They can cook on a rock and make a tasty meal for pennies. Seriously, hard working, strong spiritual, can be great in the bed without too much prompting, lol. Very, very clean, and can make a very comfortable, clean living area out of next to nothing.
I wish I’d snagged one about 20 years back when I was closer to the border and more studdly than now. I failed to mention, they are plenty of stunning Latin Ladies and they tend to age well.
Word of warning: get one as fresh from the border as possible. They tend to spoil on this side of border rather quickly if contaminated by the American, me, me, me lifestyle.
All bullshit aside, the extra pair of hands is top of peppers list in my opinion. A female pair rates even higher, especially on cold nights. Nuf said.
