Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Dio vs Yak: rnd 9 part 1

Its been a strange trip to this point. Lots and lots of learning curves. But this part seems to be the hardest. Getting the ends set in place was intense, as they are tight. You sew up one end, and mark where to sew the other, remove the sewn end and sew up its opposite. Then, kicking a foot up inside on a deck beam, pull like your helping a cow have a calf and be ready to slap some push pins in place to hold things in place. Its tricky for one person, and not at all easy. But the ‘snick’ you hear when it happens is oh so gratifying!

Here is a pic of sewing up the bow. The stern was already set.

Then, both ends stretched in place.

And starting to stretch the deck.

This starts by lacing the deck similar to a womans corset, and operates in similar fashion; a little at a time to pull it all together

With the bow to stern stretched, lacing up the deck tightens things up fast! Only two passes taking up slack and the hull sounds like a drum. Still lots to adjust out to smooth out the deck but it will wait till morning and (even) cooler temps. Nylon stretches when cool and damp so I should be able to get even tighter yet. There is some slack in the hull in the cockpit area, but that will get taken up when I install the coaming.
