About last post

I am quite aware of the disparity of grumping about technology using the internet as my forum.

As I said, I’m no Luddite, my complaints are that we have pushed the envelope to fast and can’t sustain what already is.

The cliche “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it ” comes to mind. What was wrong with the computers 10 years ago?

And I know the answer: consumerism drives demand for better and faster, and the new ‘levels’ aren’t intermarriable with the old.

I guess I just gotta be ol’skool or sumpin. I liked my old laptops, my old nokia chocolate bar phone in the 90s, and my simple to work on carburated cars and motorcycles.

But I like my smart phone and internet access too.

Ah fuggitaboutit. I LOVE my internet access. And for that, I have to have what will keep up. I’ll figure out how resurrect the old lappy. Linux mint or similar should work just fine.

But my simple to work on machines ain’ta’goin’ nowheres dangit!!!!! I’ll keep them alive so long as I can salvage or cast parts for’em.
