Race update
5.2 mile sprint, one set of class II, river at usual stages. Rained the whole race and that was actually fun for me. Of the thirty or so racers 20ish were in those superlong toothpick high performance yaks. The rest of us were in pretty much everything else: some long (me @14.5′) some short (an 8′ playboat).
Whheeeeww! That was a rush. Granted, by the first mile, the HPK’s were a bright blur in the rain a couple hundred yards downriver. By mile two, outta sight.
I didn’t do too bad, I finished, time was 1:04:25. I was second amongst the recreational boats. (Until I can edit the names from the pic, you’ll have to trust me. I aint even gonna try to go through all these fine people and beg permission to open post thier info online.)
Awards are about to be handed out right now. I’ll get home, edit that pic and update this, so check back y’all.
Update: not a pic of the posted times, but proof enough I think.

Update 2: there were 20 participants. 10 high performance yaks, 8 recreational yaks, and 2 canoe pairs.
